Funding Opportunities: External

External funding plays an integral role in the research story at Western. While the University has some funding resources available to our internal community, funding sponsors ranging from local industry, associations and Foundations to Federal Granting Councils are key in providing the resources required to continue to develop Western's expertise in all research areas.

Research Development & Services maintains detailed funding information within ROLA and provides updated opportunities to our researchers on a regular basis. Additional funding may be found by making use of standard search engines or by utilizing the Community of Science Funding Database to which the University subscribes.

Applications for all research funding are to flow through Research Development & Services for Institutional approval prior to the submission of a sponsor application and require the submission of a ROLA Proposal through our electronic system.
