Effective January 2009, the FDA has mandated that all Research Ethics Boards (REBs) be registered prior to reviewing clinical investigations regulated by the FDA (in the Investigational New Drug or Investigational Device Exemption categories) or investigations that are used to support a research or marketing permit for products under FDA regulation. The UWO Health Sciences REB and the Non-Medical REB are both fully registered with the US Food and Drug Administration:
