The Contract Research team within RD&S works in conjunction with WORLDiscoveries to provide assistance to Western's researchers, and to support partnership projects and initiatives under the direction of Research Western.  The goals of the Contract Research team are to protect the interests of the Researcher and the University, and to ensure that sponsor guidelines (as applicable) are followed in the agreement and subagreement processes. The Contract Research team facilitates, interacts with, and represents the rights of the University and the researchers to ensure compliance with the guidelines of the funding sponsors (as applicable).

Contract Research Team:

• creates, negotiates, and approves agreements and contracts with industry and non-industry sponsors
• assists and advises researchers and sponsors during project planning and project preparation
• promotes University research capabilities to industry and facilitates industry collaborations
• prepares, negotiates, reviews, recommends for approval, and maintains any research related agreements entered into
• identifies compliance requirements with University's, granting agencies' and other sponsors' policies and guidelines
• interacts with University faculty to provide knowledge of processes and procedures
