Campus communications survey underway February 6-27

Faculty and staff members have been invited to participate in a comprehensive survey to assess the communications environment on campus. I encourage all who have received an invitation to participate by completing the survey.

Commencing February 6, the survey is collecting responses for a three-week period ending February 27. We will be benchmarking the results against data gathered through a similar survey conducted in late 2003, and sharing the results later this spring with a view to identifying where and how to continue improving campus communications.

National polling firm The Strategic Counsel has been hired to assist us with the survey’s development, implementation, data collection, analysis and reporting. All responses to the survey will be strictly confidential; The Strategic Counsel will only be reporting on aggregate data. Western’s faculty and staff union leaders were consulted through the Campus Council during the course of the survey’s development.

An online version of the survey has been distributed via broadcast email to those faculty and staff with active email accounts, and a paper-based format is being distributed to those who do not have ready access to computers.

If you have any questions about the survey, contact Malcolm Ruddock at mruddock@uwo.ca or ext. 88467.
