Top three in Maclean’s
For the fourth year in a row, Western maintained its top-three position among Canada’s medical-doctoral universities in the Maclean’s University Rankings. Finishing behind only the University of Toronto and McGill University (which tied for first), Western did exceptionally well in the following categories:
- 1st in the proportion of students who graduate
- 1st in classes taught by tenured faculty
- 1st in scholarships and bursaries (as a percentage of budget)
- 1st in library acquisitions
- 2nd in student retention
- 2nd in class sizes; 3rd & 4th year level
- 3rd in average entering grade
All credit for the accolades garnered in both the Maclean’s and Globe and Mail surveys belongs entirely to Western faculty, staff and student leaders, whose expertise, skill and dedication combine to deliver what is increasingly being recognized as the best student experience among Canada’s leading research-intensive universities. These are achievements we can all celebrate as a campus community.
