Task force looking for your ideas
A Staff Recognition Task Force began work last fall to design a university-wide program to recognize and celebrate exceptional performance of Western staff members. Led by Les Ste. Marie of the Faculty of Education, this task force includes representatives from staff groups across campus who are interested in hearing from you about the most effective and meaningful ways to acknowledge exceptional contributions made by staff members to faculty, students, fellow staff and the community at large.
This group’s efforts directly support a commitment made in Western’s strategic plan Making Choices to develop effective and visible means of recognition of exceptional performance by staff. Besides joining in on one of their scheduled focus groups, I encourage you to visit the Staff Recognition Task Force Web page to learn more about what this group is planning and to provide your input to help ensure the recognition activities being developed reflect your views.
By mid 2005 the task force plans to make their recommendations for a staff recognition program design. Watch for more information as these plans become further established over the coming months.
