Did you know that small yogurt containers are not recyclable, however the larger ones are. If you purchase a large container and decant into a reusable container, you can recycle the larger one and not worry about throwing the small containers into landfill.
To conserve: Making new goods out of recycled materials saves energy. For example, making new aluminum cans from recycled cans uses up to 20 times less energy than making cans from raw materials. To be responsible: Government legislates that we divert atleast 60% of our waste from landfill. Audits of Western's waste, conducted on an annual, indicate that the mark is acheivable when all campus members participate.
