Overview
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation consists of 9 physiatrists, 2 PhDs, 7 administrative assistants, one administrative officer, a residency program (currently at 5 residents and growing) and approximately 20 research assistants and research graduate students at any one time. We are responsible for 88 rehabilitation beds and are located at Parkwood Hospital, part of the St. Joseph’s Health Care London. The department is responsible for millions of dollars in grant funding at any one time. We are significantly involved in the musculoskeletal undergraduate medical program. Research is focused around stroke, spinal cord injury and neuromuscular research. There are also physiatrists practicing in the community or nearby centers who have adjunct appointments.
