The activities of the Pathology department in research, teaching and clinical
service reflect the contributions of its members at the University of Western
Ontario and the London Health Sciences Centre (University Hospital, Victoria
Hospital and St. Joseph's Health Centre). The department offers residency training programs in anatomical pathology,
general pathology, neuropathology, and medical microbiology. Our graduate program offers training to science, medical and dental
graduates, as well as to clinical residents who wish to get solid research
training in an academic environment in both full-time and part-time graduate
programs. The department also offers a 22 month course and practicum based
program to equip graduates to act as Pathologists Assistants. The department also offers undergraduate pathology courses to medical
students, dental students, nursing students and several undergraduate pathology
courses in the joint specialization in Pathology and Toxicology in conjunction
with the Dept of Physiology & Pharmacology (open to students in the BMSc
