As academic paediatricians, we believe our mission, that of improving child health and caring for sick patients, is best provided in association with an excellent educational program and an innovative health care research program. We know that quality health care for children delivered in the context of the family provides the substrate for education, and believe that research provides the state of the art knowledge base essential for excellent patient care and education.

Our vision is to be a vital contributor to child health care, education and research within a system of regional child health providers networked and partnered with our community. The Department of Paediatrics will be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of children and their families. We strive for excellence in cost effective, evidence based care for children, and stress strategies that emphasize disease prevention.
