ICOS' 13th International Symposium for Olympic Research was hosted in Vitória, Brazil, in co-operation, with Arete-Centre of Olympic Studies at the Federal University of Espírito Santo. Contributors from Brazil, Canada, England, Switzerland, China, the United States, Australia, Russia, and France addressed a wide range of topics, from the persepctives of historical, sociological, cultural studies, management, and philosophical studies.
Symposium highlights included keynote addresses by IOC Doyen, Richard Pound, and Brazilian scholar Alberto Reppold, a donation of 100 books to the Arete Olympic Studies Centre by representatives of the IOC Studies Centre, and a cultural dance presentation by a dance troupe from the Federal University of Espírito Santo.
