Dr. Ward-Griffin is a Professor in the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario and a Scientist of the Health Outcomes & Health Services Group at Lawson Health Research Institute, London, Ontario. Using primarily a critical lens, she has designed and implemented studies that investigate the provision and interface of “formal” and “informal” care to older adults in a variety of settings and contexts. Dr. Ward-Griffin is particularly interested in understanding how the social determinants of health, such as gender and class relations, intersect and shape the caregiving experiences of women and men as they age. The results of these studies have relevance for researchers and practitioners in gerontology, health promotion and nursing, as well as those interested in the identification and development of equitable health care practices and policies that will promote the health of frail older persons and their families.
Dr. Keefe is a Professor in Family Studies and Gerontology (FSGN) at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Keefe was selected as the Mount’s first Canada Research Chair in Aging and Caregiving Policy and was awarded funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation to develop the Maritime Data Centre for Aging Research& Policy Analysis. Dr. Keefe’s research areas include caregiving, specifically work and elder care, financial compensation and assessment, rural aging and social isolation, home care human resource issues, and continuing care policy. 
Judith Belle Brown, Ph.D. in Social Work from Smith College is a Professor in the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine, the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario (UWO) and the School of Social Work at King’s College, London, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Brown is the Chair of the M.Cl.Sc. and Ph.D. in Family Medicine at Western. Dr. Brown conducts research in the areas of patient-centered care, interprofessional teamwork and teambuilding, physician well-being, physician practice behaviour, and double-duty caregiving. Dr. Brown has presented papers and conducted workshops both nationally and internationally on the patient-centered clinical method. Dr. Brown is a co-author of the book Patient-Centered Medicine: Transforming the Clinical Method and a co-editor of Challenges and Solutions in Patient-Centered Care: A Case Book. Dr. Brown is also a Series Editor of a series of books on using patient-centered care with specific conditions (i.e. chronic fatigue, eating disorders). Dr. Brown was made an Honorary Member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 1996 and is a co-recipient of The American Academy on Physician and Patient Award for Outstanding Research (1996).
Dr. Kerr is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at The University of Western Ontario. Dr. Kerr also holds appointments as a Scientist in Workplace Studies at The Institute for Work & Health, and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
