Principal Investigators

Prudence Allen, PhD

Dr. Prudence Allen is Director, National Centre for Audiology, and Associate Professor, Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her research interests include pediatric audiology, developmental psychoacoustics, auditory processing disorders in children, and classroom acoustics.

Margaret Cheesman, PhD

Dr. Margaret Cheesman is a Principal Investigator at the National Centre for Audiology and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her current research focuses on hearing and aging, the impact of noise on hearing, and hearing conservation.

Vijay Parsa, PhD

Dr. Vijay Parsa is a Principal Investigator at the National Centre for Audiology, and an Assistant Professor in the  Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His current research focuses on development of hearing devices and measures of speech quality.

Susan Scollie, PhD

Dr. Susan Scollie is Principal Investigator at the National Centre for Audiology and an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. Together with her collaborators, she developed the recently released DSL m[i/o] algorithm for hearing aid fitting. Her current research focuses on the evaluation of novel digital signal processing for high frequency hearing losses, the Speech Intelligibility Index, and sound localization in children with hearing losses.

Jeff Crukley, MSc

Jeff is a 1st year PhD Candidate in the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences program within the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Health Sciences.

Rebecca Malcomson, HonBA

Rebecca is a 2nd year Masters candidate in the Clinical Sciences Program within the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Health Sciences.

Laura Coates, HonBSc

Laura is completing a work study position and is a 1st year Masters student in the Clinical Sciences Program within the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Health Sciences.
