If you are thinking of majoring in Music Education, or even just anticipate having private students one day, then the UWO MESA group can help. MESA’s goals are to augment the Music Education program at Western with workshops and events geared to Mus.Ed. students and covering topics you might not encounter in your regular classes. Membership for the year is $5, and gets you in to ALL of the events. (Non-members pay $2 per event). We always do a workshop on ‘Applying to a Teaching Faculty’, but other events in the past have included; ‘Injury Prevention’, ‘Surviving the First Five Years’, ‘The Alexander Technique’, ‘Instrument Repair’, ‘Tuba Workshop’, and more!
