Our students have a high graduation rate and are successfully established in a wide range of careers. This is a result of Western's unique combination of musical and academic options, within a comprehensive university setting, on one of Canada’s most beautiful campuses. One of the largest music faculties in Canada, we are also one of the friendliest.

Our graduate studies programs lead to an MA, MMus, PhD and DMA in: musicology, music theory, music education, composition and performance. We also offer an interdisciplinary MA in Popular Music and Culture with the Faculty of Information and Media Studies. The breadth and flexibility of our graduate programs reflect the expertise of our distinguished faculty, who include nationally and internationally recognized scholars, composers and performers.



Non Degree Programs

The comprehensive degree programs we offer at the Don Wright Faculty of Music are enriched by several non-degree programs: Piano Technology, the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy (COAA), Accademia Europea Dell'Opera (AEDO), New Horizons Adult Band, a Graduate Diploma in Community Music and the Young Winds program.
