Music producer, songwriter, DJ, artist manager, professor, and PhD candidate are just a few ways to describe Daniel Rosen. Over the past two years Daniel has found his niche in the music industry and academic realm, producing and writing hit songs, DJing at London and Toronto's hottest clubs, managing Muchmusic Video Award winner Danyka Nadeau, conducting groundbreaking research on Electronic Dance Music (EDM), and teaching at the Don Wright Faculty of Music. His PhD supervisor is Jay Hodgson.
Better known in the DJ community as "Lance Romance," Daniel's first official remix, released on Champion Beats Records, was on an EP that reached No. 67 in the Electro House genre on Beatport, the worlds largest online EDM retailer. Danyka Nadeau's single Second Best, co-written and produced by Daniel, had a MuchFACT-supported music video in heavy rotation on Muchmusic in 2012. An expert grant writer, he has already received four grants from MuchFACT and FACTOR for Danyka. Daniel also took on vocal production duties for Stereotronique & Sebastian Ivarsson's Tonight featuring Danyka, released on Monstercat, one of the world's premier EDM labels.
Daniel strives to balance the theoretical and practical components of contemporary music research, and is a one-of-a-kind academic. Daniel teaches Post World War II Popular Music at Western. Involved in graduate student affairs, he is a member of the Society of Graduate Students in Music, and the chair of the annual Western University Graduate Symposium on Music.
