Joan Kanigan
Introducing
Joan Kanigan,
the new
Executive Director
at the
Museum of
Ontario Archaeology

The Museum is delighted to welcome Joan Kanigan, our new Executive Director. Joan began her new position in June and was formally introduced at our Annual General Meeting and Staff BBQ on June 27th. Joan accomplished many great things as Executive Director at the Brant Historical Society. Her experience as a senior manager in non-profit organizations will be a great asset for our institution.

National Aboriginal Solidarity Day
The Museum celebrated Aboriginal Day in Harris Park on June 21st. We met many people throughout the day as we enjoyed the festivities.

Cultural Circle Day
As part of National Aboriginal Day shared First Nation history with school groups. On June 19thand 20th, Grade 5 & 6 students visited us for a full day of workshops: drumming and learning the Oneida language, watching a Pow Wow demonstration, playing lacrosse, making fry bread and bannock over the fire, and painting.
