This piece was created to provide a positive image to address important social issues that affect many people, including myself.
There are two intersecting forms of oppression that stand out in this drawing -homophobia and racism. This drawing helps combat these
two forms of oppressipn by addressing heterosexism and white supremacy in the media.
I am a first year Engineering Science student. Although I have a strong interest in the sciences, I enjoy
helping people by getting involved in the community. I am an executive member of the Queer Western Organization
and Medical Students For Choice. Also, I am involved with the Queer Asian Youth collective in Toronto. |
