Student Residence VoiceMail Instructions (Octel)

Initial voice mail password is the 5-digit extension number of your telephone. The Voice Mail system will prompt you to change this password on your initial logon.

Logging onto the System

From your on campus phone:
- Dial the internal system number, 83333
- Enter your personal password
From another on campus phone:
- Dial 83333
- Press * to indicate that you have a mailbox on the system
- Enter your 5 digit mailbox number
- Enter your personal password
From off campus / remote:
- Dial 519 661-3333
- Press # to indicate you have a mailbox on the system
- Enter 5-digit mailbox number
- Enter your personal password

RECORDING YOUR GREETINGS

From main menu

Press 4 to select personal options
Press 3 to select greetings
Press 1 for personal greetings
Record the greeting
Press 2 to record a personal greeting
- Press 1 to record a greeting that informs callers that you are away from your phone
- Press 2 to record a greeting that informs callers that you are on the phone
Record the greeting
Press # when finished recording

RECORDING YOUR NAME

From main menu

Press 4 to select personal options
Press 3 to select greetings
Press 3 to select Record Your Name
Record your first and last name
Press # when finished recording

CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD

From main menu

Press 4 to select personal options
Press 2 for administrative options
Press 1 to select password
Press 1 to change your personal password
Enter a password containing 4 to 15 digits
Press # when finished entering your password

LISTENING TO YOUR MESSAGES

From main menu

Press 1 to listen to Messages
Press 7 to delete message or 9 to save it
- Press 1 - to rewind
- Press 3 - to fast forward
- Press # - to skip to next message
