Western University now offers a campus-wide license to MATLAB, Simulink, and companion toolboxes. The Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license covers on-campus and home software use for all instructors, staff, and researchers, as well as Western classroom and lab installations.
If you are currently using MATLAB under an existing license for teaching or academic research at Western, this license will soon become inactive (but will remain stored by MathWorks). Once you activate your MATLAB software under the new TAH campus-wide license, you will have access to a TAH Designated Computer license with access to MATLAB and many other products/toolboxes.
This initiative was based on support received from Campus faculty/department stakeholders. The license is expected to provide substantial institutional cost savings and also make access to MATLAB available to a much larger pool of users at Western. The cost of the site license will be shared between departmental contributions and central funding and the funding model has been constructed so as to reduce the total faculty cost when compared to the previous non Campus Wide licensing model.
You do not have to uninstall MATLAB. Use the Software Distribution Application to find out how to install MATLAB or reassign your existing software.
