ArcGIS Site License

General Information:

• ArcGIS is available to faculty, research staff and graduate students solely for teaching, research and administrative purposes.
• The site license expires on an annual basis (in mid-February)
• Renewals can be completed by logging in to WebCT OWL (under 'Course List' - select "ITS - Software Distribution")
• Professors and instructors (including graduate students) may install ArcGIS on their home/personal computers for Western research and/or class preparation.
• ArcGIS is available for instructor-led classes or to undergraduate students in the Genlabs (General Student Computing Labs).
• Contact the ITS Site License Coordinator to find out how to get an installation kit.

Versions available:

• ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop: Basic (formerly known as ArcView)
• ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop: Standard (formerly known as ArcEditor)
• ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop: Advanced (formerlyknown as ArcInfo)

Taking ESRI Courses - Virtual Campus Enrollments:

• ESRI's ArcGIS Virtual Campus Courses are available to Western faculty, staff, and students.
• There is no additional cost to enroll in a course.
• Go to ESRI to see a complete listing of all the ArcGIS course descriptions.
• If you wish to enroll in one or more of the ESRI courses, complete the Virtual Course Request Form.
• Once you submit your request to ITS, you will receive an email with the ESRI Training Course Access Codes within three business days.
