Recently, Jeff Grieve, Executive Director of Information Technology services announced his plan to retire from Western to pursue a Masters degree in Digital Archaeology and Cultural Heritage preservation.  Since taking over as leader of ITS, Jeff has played the central role in leading Western in all aspects of information technology support to the University community.

Jeff’s retirement along with the earlier retirement Announcements of Jean Savage and Nancy Wellard, two other senior ITS staff members created the opportunity to review Western’s central IT organizational structure.  As a result of this review, effective June 1, 2017, Western Technology Services will be in place – and will bring together the former ITS and WISG groups.   This change will move Western toward an improved and more integrated pan-University organization that will allow us to realize greater resource and technology synergies between the central IT teams

The new Western Technology Services organizational chart can be found at http://www.uwo.ca/its/about-its/itsorgchart.html.

The new Western Technology Services organization signals an important shift toward a stronger and more-integrated pan-University IT support structure for Western to address  strategic goals as a leading research-intensive University in Canada.
