In order to accommodate the Western student population's dynamic work schedules, MyVLab is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the school year. Please note that momentary restarts may occur once a month on Sunday nights to facilitate operating system updates.
You can stay logged into MyVLab for a maximum of 10 hours at a time. If you are still logged in at this time you will be logged out automatically. This is to ensure server resources are not retained by users who have left their session idle for extended periods. If you require use of MyVLab for any longer than 10 hours, please save your work, log out, then log back in to start a new session.
Some applications are restricted to a class list provided by the faculty member that owns the software license. If you require an application for a class and it does not appear on your desktop or start menu, contact the course instructor.
If you have connectivity problems while logged into MyVLab or accidentally close your VMWare Horizon View client window, you may still rejoin your session if you are able to log back in within 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, your session will be logged out. If your files are saved to your MyFiles H drive, they may be recoverable.
Some applications provided in MyVLab only function when they are able to connect to a license server. Sometimes technical issues arise from the license application that cause the server to become unavailable. If you experience an issue with one of these applications, please report it to the ITS Helpdesk as soon as possible so support technicians can investigate and resolve the problem.
The following applications have license servers:
Access to MyVLab is only provided to Faculty upon request and only if it is for instructional use, not research. If you require access for teaching a class, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and outline your request.
