Editing a Reocurring Event using calendar extension software such as Lightning or Oracle Connector for Outlook can cause duplicate or missing events within the series. Minimize the usage of reocurring events by using copy/paste or clone event features. If an event in the series needs to be changed; As the organizer do not move or delete a single instance instead create a new single instance of the event. If there are significant changes in attendee list or date/time of the standard meeting delete the entire series and start over. When trying to process the notification message from spamtrap@uwo.ca using the mail client, Thunderbird ver. 3 you receive the message 'Parameter Problem - Your request could not be processed'. Individuals see a warning triangle and "The calendar xxx is momentarily not available" when I try to view the Wcap calendar. We recommend avoiding the upgrade to Thunderbird 5.0 until an official release has been made to Lightning which includes a fix for this bug is released. Refer to the bugzilla forum pages for additional details. The calendar project team for Mozilla, Lightning have released an updated version 1.05b to fix the compatibility issues.
Owners require explicit read/write permission in addition to ownership in order to create events. This requires adding a second permission entry (eg. one for "owner" and another for "read/write"). Within the resource calendar sharing dialog, users who are owner and have any other permission are listed only with the "other" permissions and not as owners. If this dialog is saved, those users lose ownership permission. Owners will need to chose between following the recommendations layed out by ITS for booking a resource calendar or lose the ability to set permissions independantly and have to contact ITS to perform this task. A patch has been applied to the server that has since fixed the problem. Owners no long require explicit read/write permission in addition to ownership in order to create events.
Convergence is not accessible using Google's web browser, Chrome. The supported browsers are Firefox 3 +, Internet Explorer 7 + and Safari 4 +. The next version of the Convergence software is expected to include a fix which should allow Convergence to function under Chrome. However, it will still not be considered an officially supported browser. While it still isn't officially supported, Google Chrome will now successfully launch Convergence. Individuals are still presented with a warning message stating "...you may not get the full functionality." However, we have not heard of or experienced any limitations.
