Awards for Using Technology In The Classroom

There are two new awards available for instructors who successfully integrate technology into their courses. The two awards are:

1.  The Vice-Provost(Academic Programs) Award for Excellence in Online Teaching and Learning

2. The Western Award for Innovations in Technology Enhanced Teaching

The Award for Innovations in Technology Enhanced Teaching is a chance to reward faculty members at Western or Affiliated University Colleges who have “significantly improved the experience and outcomes of their students through the intentional incorporation of technology into their teaching practice”. It was won in the 2015-2016 academic year by Barbara Sinclair from Nursing.

The Vice-Provost Award for Excellence in Online Teaching and Learning recognises a full- or part-time faculty member or collaboration led by a faculty member that includes university staff, librarians and archivists, students or community partners. The winner is chosen based on the impact of a learning object or activity that portrays excellence in online teaching.

If you or a faculty member you know has demonstrated excellence or innovation in the field of eLearning, please consider applying for one of these awards. More information is available at the links below:
