Introduction
This document will help you setup your wireless adapter to connect to the uwosecure network using Windows Vista (all versions).
How to connect to Western's Secure Wireless Network with Windows Vista
Select Windows logo... Connect To
Select Set up a connection or network (See Fig. 1)

This will start the connection wizard.
Highlight Manually connect to a wireless network
Select Next (See Fig. 2)

Enter the following information
Network name: uwosecure-v2
Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
Encryption Type: AES
Note: The recommended 'encryption type' for uwosecure-v2 is AES. However, some laptops may not be able to support this encryption type due a limitation of their network card. In these cases you may want to try and connect using TKIP.
Select Next (See Fig. 3)

Select Change connection settings.
This will open the network properties window.
Be sure to uncheck "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting".

Select the Security tab.
Under Choose a network authentication method:
Select Settings (See Fig. 4)

From the Protect EAP Properties window.
Check off Connect to these servers and enter *.uwo.ca
Check off Thawte Premium Server CA.
Under Select Authentication Method:
Select Configure (See Fig. 5)

This will open the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window.
Uncheck Automatically use my windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
Select OK to close all the boxes (See Fig. 5a)
Select Close to finish the network connection wizard.
You should now see a windows bubble (bottom right corner) pop up requesting additional information.
Select the bubble. (See Fig. 6)

You will now be asked for you UWO authentication (leave logon domain blank).
Select OK. (See Fig. 7)

You will see the Additional information is required bubble again. See Fig 6.
Select the bubble again.
This time you will be asked to validate the server certificate.
Select OK. See Fig 8.

You are now connected to uwosecure-v2 (it might take a minute to finish validating).
