Introduction
This procedure will outline the configuration required for the i{Pad, Phone and Touch} devices to access your Western email account.
Procedure
Option 1
If you already have your Western email account configured on your computer you may want to consider using iTunes to sync these account settings with your i{Pad, Phone and Touch}, refer to Apple Support page for further details.
Option 2
Ensure your Western Identity is activated and synchronized before proceeding. Please review http://www.uwo.ca/its/identity/synchpw.html. Please wait 15 minutes before proceeding, if you synchronized your password recently.

Fig 2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Fig 4. Tap Add Mail Account
Fig 5. Enter your firstname and lastname, as you wish it to appear on your emails in the Name section
Enter your Western email address in the Address section (eg. userid@uwo.ca)
Enter your Western Identity password in the Password section
Note: If you are running the current version of firmware, your password letter will display momentarily as you type (so you can verify it is correct)
Enter Description as UWO IMAP
Tap Next

Tap Host Name and enter imap.uwo.ca
Tap User Name and enter your Western Identity user id
Tap Password and enter your Western Identity password
Note: If you are running the current version of firmware, your password letter will display momentarily as you type (so you can verify it is correct)
Fig 8. Scroll down to the Outgoing Mail Server section
Tap Host Name and enter smtp.uwo.ca
Tap User Name and enter your Western Identity user id
Tap Password and enter your Western Identity password
Note: If you are running the current version of firmware, your password letter will display momentarily as you type (so you can verify it is correct)
Tap Next

Fig 10. Once completed tap Save
Congratulations! your device is now configured to access your Western email.
Encrypted/Secure Email
If your device isn't running the latest updates you may need to manually configure the IMAP and SMTP servers to connect using encrypted/secure protocols. Follow the instructions below in sequential order.
SMTP Settings
Tap Settings
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap the UWO account
Tap the UWO email address
Scroll down and Tap smtp.uwo.ca
Tap the Primary Server in order to edit the smtp server
Ensure Use SSL is ON
Ensure Authentication is Password
Ensure Server Port is 587
Tap Done
Tap Account
IMAP Settings
Tap Advanced
Scroll down to Incoming Settings
Ensure Use SSL is ON
Ensure Authentication is Password
Ensure Server Port is 993
Tap Account
Tap Done
