Getting Started
This document will walk you through the setup of Western's E-mail Using Outlook Express.
Account Setup Wizard
Step 1 – Setup Email Account:
Click 'Tools', then click 'Accounts'
Click the 'Mail' tab
Then click 'Add' and select 'Mail'

Step 1a – Enter a display name
Then click 'Next'

Step 2 – Enter your email address
Then click 'Next'

Step 3 – Setup the incoming and outgoing mail servers
Then click 'Next'

Step 4 – Enter your Uwo username & password.
Then click 'Next'

Step 5 – Now click 'Finish'.

Step 6 – E-mail Security Settings.
Go back to 'Tools' Then 'Accounts'
Click the 'Mail' tab
Click to highlight your account and select 'Properties'

Step 6a - Configure Server Settings
Click the 'Server' tab
Under the Outgoing Mail Server
Place a checkmark beside 'My server requires authentication'
Click Settings

Click the radial button for 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click OK

Step 6b – Configure Advanced Settings.
Click the 'Advanced' tab
Change the outgoing mail server port number to '587' or '465'
Check the box that says 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' for both the incoming/outgoing servers
Now change the incoming mail server port number to '993'
Then click 'Apply' & 'Ok'
Close the 'Internet Accounts' window if it is still open.

You're All Done. Remember to test your account see below.
Test Outlook Express
Now its time to test your account to verify that your setup worked. The best way to do this is to send yourself a 'Test' message. If you receive your message then your account works.
