Access 2010 - Level I (ACCI10)

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This course is for users with little or no experience with creating database applications. The course begins by planning and designing a database and covers the principles to consider to maximize data quality. The participants will then create a simple relational database with tables using the most common data types and set relationships. An accompanying application will be created that contains basic select queries, forms to enter data and reports to output summaries.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with computers and have experience using Microsoft Windows.

Access 2010 - Level II (ACCII10)

Course Length: 4 half days (12h)

Description: This course is designed for users who can create simple applications with Access and now want to explore some of the intermediate to advanced skill sets. Participants will start by designing a database with a more complex relational model, then set table properties and relationships to further improve data quality, create forms with subforms and create grouped reports. Users will learn to create advanced queries such as those based on other queries, queries to manipulate data, and queries to summarize data. Finally, participants will learn to use macros to create event-driven programming to automate routine processes and incorporate these into the application.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Windows and have taken the Access 2010 - Level I course, or have equivalent experience.

Acrobat 10 (X) Professional - Intro (AA10)

Course Length: 2 half days (6h)

Description: This course teaches users how to create, modify and update PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Professional to organize and share documents as well as implement electronic document review workflows in a business environment. Participants will learn how to properly navigate and search PDF documents and manage multiple PDF documents.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with the basic functions of their computer's operating system. Students should also have basic word processing skills, such as copying and pasting text, formatting text, and so on.

Acrobat LiveCycle Designer (LCD)

Course Length: 2 half days (6h)

Description: In this course, users learn how to design a fillable form using the LiveCycle Designer included in Adobe Acrobat Professional to create interactive PDF forms to distribute, fill out, and then submit electronically. Participants will also learn how to organize the collected data in a spreadsheet.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Windows, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.

Excel 2010 - Level I (EXI10 or EXI10-2)

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This introductory course teaches users how to create and maintain workbooks with basic calculations. Participants will use a variety of Excel features to format and determine a suitable layout for common business reports such as budgets, inventory reports, and invoices.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with computers and have experience using Microsoft Windows.

Excel 2010 - Level II: Data Analysis and Presentation (EXII10-D)

NEW! Excel Level II now has two streams to accommodate the needs of users on campus. Choose the Level II course that best suits your work environment.

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This course introduces participants to tools for analyzing data using features such as sorting, filtering, importing and sharing data. Users will be introduced to various methods for presenting data in report format using Pivot Tables and Charts. Additional topics include conditional and customized formatting.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Windows and have taken the Excel 2010 - Level I course, or have equivalent experience.

Excel 2010 - Level II: Formulas and Functions (EXII10-F)

NEW! Excel Level II now has two streams to accommodate the needs of users on campus. Choose the Level II course that best suits your work environment.

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This course focuses on advanced Excel formulas using functions for conditional, logical, financial and date calculations. Participants will learn how to create formulas to look up and manipulate data when working with lists of data. Techniques for auditing and troubleshooting formulas will also be discussed.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Windows and have taken the Excel 2010 - Level I course, or have equivalent experience.

Excel 2010 - Level III: Macros (EXIII10)

Course Length: 4 half days (12h)

Description: Level III provides techniques to automate common repetitive tasks that are used in the Excel workbook development. Participants will learn how to use the Excel built in macro recorder to create basic macros and the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Editor to enhance, customize and create methods of deployment. This course is run over two weeks so participants can review and practice more between sessions.

Who Should Attend: People that have taken Excel 2010 - Level II course, or have equivalent experience.

Photoshop - Intro (PS)

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This course provides participants with the concepts and skills to use Adobe Photoshop CS5 effectively. Users will learn how to use layers and apply filters to create special effects. Other topics include image creating/editing enhancement; photo retouching; and saving images in web, print, and PDF formats.

Who Should Attend: This course is designed for the average computer user who is familiar with the basic skills of computer use and understands file management.

PowerPoint 2010 (PPT10)

Course Length: 3 half days (9h)

Description: This course will teach participants how to create presentations incorporating text, graphics and media. Users will use a variety of commands and functions to enhance presentations with formatting and animation methods.

Word 2010 Level I (WDI10)

Course Length: 2 half days (6h)

Description: An introductory course designed to teach students how to create and edit documents, save, open or close documents, apply formatting options, set tabs and indents, change the view mode, manipulate the text using features such as copy and paste, and preview and then print the document.

Word 2010 Advanced Short Course: Adding Tables & Illustrations to Documents (WDADV1)

Course Length: 3 hours

Description: Participants will receive advanced instruction on inserting and formatting tables. The course also will explain how to properly insert objects into a document and control the placement of these objects with surrounding text. Some of the objects you will work with are pictures, ClipArt and SmartArt.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Word.

Word 2010 Advanced Short Course: Mail Merge (WDADV2)

Course Length: 2 hours

Description: This course will provide instruction on how to produce letters, envelopes and labels for mailings large or small by adding a personalized touch. The list of recipients for the mail merge will be established using a new or an existing data source stored in formats such as Excel or other table formats. For frequent mailings, methods on how to maintain the data list and quickly produce mailing documents will be put into practice.

Word 2010 Advanced Short Course: Reviewing & Maintaining Documents (WDADV3)

Course Length: 2 hours

Description: In this course, participants will learn how to properly track changes, review and compare documents within Word. Become an efficient Word user by customizing some of the Word environment settings and creating templates. The course also covers how to share and protect a document.

Who Should Attend: People who are familiar with Word.

Word 2010 Advanced Short Course: Working with Large Documents (WDADV4)

Course Length: 3 hours

Description: This course covers advanced Word tools needed to manage a large document. See how much time can be saved by using styles to format a document and how easy it is to create and update a table of contents. The participant will also learn to control page numbering by working with section breaks.
