E.A. Fischione Instruments Inc. Model 3000 Ion Mill is used for the preparation of TEM specimens. The sample stage can be cooled to liquid nitrogen temperatures and can be oriented for milling angles ranging from 0-45 degrees. The ions are accelerated through 0.5 kV to 6 kV and the ion beam currents are about 400 microamps.
