Denmark: Aarhus University

Aarhus University is the second oldest and second largest university in Denmark. It was founded in 1928 with 78 students and is still an institution with close ties to the founding local community. Most of the university's yellow-brick buildings are located on a picturesque campus, which is situated in a hilly area, with a moraine valley full of large oak trees and a stream that flows into two small lakes. Aarhus combines a country setting with all the advantages of city living. Being situated right on the waterfront, it is never far to sunlit beaches or refreshing green woods. In addition, Aarhus offers all the usual city comforts, such as restaurants, parks and gardens, theatres, art galleries, shopping centres and nightclubs. Cultural events take place all year round and the city has an international reputation as a living music venue.
