Checklist: When You Arrive

Contact your family or friends to let them know you have arrived
Arrange for temporary accommodation if needed/
Write down the expiry date of your Study Permit
Visit us at the International and Exchange Student Centre (IESC) in the Western Student Services Building, Room 2120 and:
  • Pick up your International Student Orientation Package
  • Register for upcoming programs and events, and explore our services
Pick up your WesternONE Student Card
Pick up your bus pass
Print your UHIP (Health Insurance) card
Activate your Western email account if you have not done so already
Open a bank account
Pay any outstanding tuition or residence fees
Register for classes if you have not yet done so
Add/drop classes if necessary
Apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) if you will be working on campus
Update your London address and phone number in your Student Center account
Register for Orientation events:
  • International Exchange Program Orientation for exchange students
Get to know the Western campus
Off-campus students: set up utilities, buy furniture and arrange Internet, phone and television services if needed
