Registering Associated Persons to Western
(Associated Persons of Interest /POI - formerly called Special IDs)
Introduction:
An Associated Person (Associated Person of Interest / POI) is an individual who has a recognized and approved affiliation with Western University, but who is not an employee of Western.
Registering an Associated Person will result in the individual being assigned a unique Western Identification Number and this Identification Number is used to provide access to appropriate resources at the University in support of that role. Many of these people are visiting scholars, visiting researchers/scientists, volunteers, employees of an Affiliated University College, clinical educators who are supervising, mentoring or assisting students in a hospital setting, etc.
All registrations must be approved by the Administrative Officer designated in your department/unit who is responsible for the management/approval of these registrations.
Please refer to the information below on a variety of topics to help with the administration of Associated Persons.
