Southwestern Ontario Healthcare Partnership PDF Document
A partnership has been set up with various pharmacies referred to as the Southwestern Ontario Healthcare Partnership (HCP). HCP pharmacies charge less for dispensing/professional fees while providing competitive drug ingredient prices and professional advice. The list of participating pharmacies can be found here.


University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP)
Information on a health plan for foreign students, employees and their dependents who are not eligible for OHIP coverage.


Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Western provides its full-time employees with a free Employee Assistance Program (EAP). EAP offers confidential counselling to those who request it, and it's available through the facilities of Family Service EAP located on Woodward Avenue.


Dependents' Tuition Scholarship Plan
Available for dependent children and/or spouses of regular full-time, continuing faculty members, and dependent children of current, regular full-time PMA or UWOSA eligible employees.


Professional Allowance
Professional allowance is available for staff members belonging to the PMA, UWOFA, Librarians/Archivists, UWOPA, and SAGE employee groups.


Safety Shoes Reimbursement
Human Resource Services is responsible for the administration of the Safety Shoes Reimbursement benefit. Here is a quick overview of the reimbursement process:

  • Obtain the "Request for Reimbursement - Safety Shoes"PDF document form either by printing the PDF version or by contacting us directly at 519-661-2194 (or ext. 82194)
  • Complete the form and submit it to Human Resource Services, Room 5100, Support Services Building. (Supervisor authorization is required.)
