Thurs. Feb. 22, 1:00pm-2:15pm
University Community Centre (UCC), room 56

Note: This session is a repeat of the resume and interview session offered at last year's conference.

A great résumé won’t get you a job, but it can get you the interview! In this session, learn to shift the focus of your résumé from an employment history to a self-marketing document that showcases your relevant accomplishments.  Learn about effective résumé formats and common misconceptions about résumé styles, formats and length.

In the second half of the session, learn how you can help interviewers connect the dots between their needs and your skills. You need to be prepared to answer three key questions on every interviewer’s mind:  Can you do the job? Will you do the job? How will you fit in?  Behavioural interviewing and answering both standard and “tough” interview questions will be covered.

The presenters along with members of Western Human Resources will be available after each session to answer individual questions.
