Western Staff and Leaders' ConferenceWestern University

What do conference volunteers do?

Western employees are invited to get involved in the conference by becoming a volunteer during conference week. Volunteer roles include helping in many capacities, including: introducing and thanking speakers and sessions, greeting people, directing "people traffic", managing handouts, setting up in advance of the conference, and assisting with tear-down afterwards.

Who can volunteer?

Any employee who will be attending the conference may indicate on their registration that they are available to volunteer.

What is the committment?

Attendance and reliability are key aspects of the volunteer role. We rely on you!

Volunteers must commit to attending a Volunteer Preparation Meeting, and must be available to assist at multiple sessions throughout the conference as needed. A preparation meeting will be scheduled in early February and interested volunteers will be contacted with details. During the conference, volunteers are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes before the conference sessions begin.

How do I sign up?

Simply register for the conference, and indicate at the end of your registration that YES -- you would like to be a volunteer. After the registration period closes, we will contact volunteers on a first-come and as-needed basis.
