Western provides many on-campus health and wellness services to help students achieve optimum health. We encourage you to learn about all the services available to you and make use of those that best meet your needs.

  • The Wellness Education Centre (WEC) offers a safe, comfortable environment for all Western students to ask questions and learn about the many health and wellness resources available on- and off-campus. We have a ‘no wrong door’ policy - if you have a question, we’ll help you answer it…or we’ll find the person who can. today

Alcohol and Drugs

  • Check your Drinking
  • Alcoholics Anonymous Western Open Discussion Meeting is open to anyone who has, or thinks they may have a problem with alcohol. Meetings offer information, support, and help toward recovery and are open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the general public. Meetings on campus - Fridays from 2-3 p.m. in Room 369 University Community Centre - from September to April. Visit www.aalondon.org.

Eat Well

  • Anne Zok - Nutrition Manager, Hospitality Services - Ask Anne your nutrition questions
  • FRESH - Food Resources and Education for Student Health -a peer nutrition education program created by and for university students
  • Dieticians (USC) - Free nutrition counselling. Office is 78E in the basement of UCC. Hours are Wednesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone number is 519-850-2994 x82994.

  • Ready to quit?  This is the place to go to get the information and the help you need to take that big step.

Sexual Wellness

  • Sexual violence - visit the special Western website designed to co-ordinate information about sexual violence.
  • Birth Control information sessions - These 45-minute session are offered to students interested in receiving a prescription for birth control from Student Health Services. Phone 519-661-3030.
  • Rapid HIV Testing - the USC provides free anonymous Rapid HIV Testing for Western students. Email usc.hiv.testing@uwo.ca to book an appointment or for more information.
  • Ally Western - working to create a more inclusive university campus, with a focus on understanding and celebrating sexual diversity.
  • Pride Western - a University Students' Council service dedicated to the gender and sexually diverse community on campus at Western University.
