Pregnancy Leave

  • Up to 17 weeks.
  • Begins before (no more than 17 weeks before), on, or after termination date of pregnancy.
  • Ends no more than 17 weeks after termination date of pregnancy, or at end of contract, whichever is sooner.
  • If medical certificate required, Employer must pay.
  • Notify your departmental designate at least 4 weeks in advance of intial date of pregnancy leave.
  • Lesser period of notification is fine with a valid reason.
  • Paid if, TA has been an employee for at least one term
  • 1st two weeks: 100% of pay; remaining 15 weeks: 55% of pay. Refer to Article 20 in the Collective Agreement for information on more leaves.
