Minor in Francophone Studies

Admission Requirements:

Completion of first-year requirements, including French 1900E or 1910 with a mark of at least 60% or permission of the Department.

Note:
With the permission of the Department or program involved, up to one full course may be counted towards both the Minor in Francophone Studies and another Major, Specialization or Honors Specialization. Courses not listed but which cover a Francophone world topic may also be counted, with the permission of the Department or program involved and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Students are responsible for checking and fulfilling the specific prerequisites for all courses in which they register.

  • 2605F/G and 2606F/G (may be taken in any order)
1.5 credit - Required Literatures
  • 3730F/G Contemporary Francophone Women's Literature
  • 3720F/G Introduction to Quebec Literature
  • 3750F/G Introduction to World Francophone Literatures
0.5 credit - Literature courses
  • 3721F/G - 3722F/g Topics in French-Canadian Literature
  • 3730F/G - 3732F/G Topics in Francophone Women's Literature
  • 3751F/G - 3752F/G Topics in Francophone Literature
1.0 credit
  • from the courses approved by the department


Note:
Both of French 2605F/G and French 2606F/G (or French 2600E) are prerequisites for further studies in French Literature and French 2805A/B and French 2806A/B are prerequisites for further studies in French Linguistics.
