Western is an official examination center for the CCIP. Sessions are held during the week of 23 April on campus every year for the following
examinations: The administration fee is non refundable and covers the
administrative expenses incurred by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. Please
note that the professors and staff at Western participating in the CCIP
examinations (as coordinators or examiners) do so on a volunteer
basis. You need to provide me ASAP with complete
information about your UWO examination timetable in April. In
case of a timetable conflict, your examinations from Western will NOT be
changed. If necessary, I will change your CCIP exam schedule so as to avoid a
conflict. However, I do not have a lot of latitude given that the CCIP
examinations have to be sent back to Paris the next day. I have, at most, around
48 hrs to accommodate your timetable. If you have one (1) UWO on the day of your
CCIP exam, you might have to take the CCIP before or after your UWO exam on that
same day. Therefore, it is extremely important for me to have accurate
information about your UWO examinations: please let me
know on which days you have exams, as well as the time and the duration of
the exams, and on which days you do not have exams. Typically, students who take FR 2200 at Western are
prepared to take the B1; students who take FR 3200 or
FR 3201E are prepared to take the B2. The C1 exams require
near-native French skills as well as an in-depth understanding of economics and
business. I usually recommend it to students with a business and/or economics
background, given that FR 3200 & FR 3301E do not cover the material required
for the C1. Please contact me directly if you need advice
about which exam to take. The B1 is NOT a prerequisite for the B2, and the B2 is NOT
a prerequisite for the C1. In other words, you can choose to take any one of
these three exams independently of the other two. You can only take ONE exam per session. If you are
interested in taking two exams, take the easier one the first year, and the more
advanced one the next year. Please note that these examination sessions are open to the
public and are not restricted to students from Western: if you know
someone with good French skills who might be interested in taking these exams,
please have him/she contact me. These examinations in Business French are NOT open
to French citizens. If you have a dual nationality (e.g. French and
Canadian), do not mention your French nationality on the application
form. Please consult http://www.francais.ccip.fr and click on "Diplômes et Tests" for selecting the exam you are interested in. The link "Jeu témoin" gives you accessto an example of the exam. Each exam contains a written part and an oral part. The duration of the
written exam depends on which exam you are taking: it is 2 hrs
and 15 min. long for the B1; 3 hrs long for the B2, and 3 hrs and 30 min. long
for the C1. The oral exam consists of two 15 minute
examinations with two professors from the Department of French Studies at
Western. Once you have decided which examination you want to take, proceed as
follows: Please note that Western receives the examination results as well as the diplomas in early September. You must provide a
self-addressed envelope (8 1/2’’ x 11’’ letter format) with
postage for registered mail. Please check with
Canada Post for rates and postage information. Chantal DawarDiplomas of the Paris Chamber of Commerce
