Coordinator 2012-2013: Dr. David Heap (UWO) You will be expected to register in the equivalent of 3.0 courses (six
semester courses) at the Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, Université de
Nice. The Program Coordinator will assist you with your course selections. You will receive credit from the participating university at which you are
registered for all French courses you complete successfully at Nice. However,
you must abide by all of your home university's regulations regarding course
changes and cancellations to the extent that is feasible. If in doubt always
contact the Program Coordinator. Iit may also be necessary to consult your own
university. Every effort will be made to find equivalent courses. For courses in
areas of study other than French, it is the student's responsibility to
ascertain that the home university will accept the course for transfer
credit. Normally, the French courses which participants in the Canadian Third Year in
Nice Program take are first-year level courses from the Département de Lettres
Modernes. The web site of the Université de
Nice can help you decipher the system of diplomas in French Universities,
which has undergone a major restructuring that was implemented in the 2004-2005
academic year. Rather than taking "DEUG I" courses as they were called under the
old system, students will take "Licence 1" courses. Your home University will advise you on the equivalents that will be assigned
to the courses. The Third Year in Nice Exchange Program
