After completing a competitive and comprehensive RFP process in partnership with the University of Guelph, Fanshawe College, Trent University and the Thames Valley District School Board, Western Procurement Services is pleased to announce a new vendor agreement with Toshiba of Canada and OE Canada Inc. to replace the current fleet of Toshiba Multifunction Devices (MFD’s) with new leading edge multifunctional printers. The new technology includes many new enhancements and features: faster operating system, significantly higher quality colour production, faster colour production (up to 4 times existing speeds), standard colour scanning, preview scan and a USB port. The term of the contract is 5 years expiring August 31, 2016. OE Canada is responsible for keeping the MFD’s functioning ‘as new’ throughout the duration of the contract. http://security.uwo.ca/MFD/manuals.html Toner and supplies for your new Toshiba MFD can be ordered from Western Office Supplies (WOS) as in the past. WOS can be reached at X88122. There is no charge for the toner as this cost is covered within the MFD’s cost structure. There is a charge for staples, transparencies and paper. The new contract has taken on a slightly different billing structure. Each copier will have a quarterly lease rate as opposed to a straight cost-per-copy rate in the past. Departments will be billed quarterly in arrears for both the lease charge and the cost-per-copy volume charge for that period. Your new Toshiba eStudio devices operate in an almost identical way to the equipment you are currently using. In fact, many users will not experience any interruption while performing their regular work. This minimal learning curve will certainly assist during the transition period.
