PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

HONORS SPECIALIZATION IN FILM STUDIES

Please note the following changes to this module:

Film 2200F/G and Film 2250F/G have been removed from the film modules. If you took either course previously, they will now be counted toward the elective portion of your module.

Film 2251E and Film 2253E have been replaced by Film 2252F/G - World Cinema and Film 2254F/G - American Cinema. If you took either 2251E or 2253E previously, you are not required to take their replacements. A half credit (0.5) will be counted towards the new course and the remaining half added to the elective portion of your module.


Admission Requirements: Completion of first-year requirements with no failures. Students must have an average of at least 70% in 3.0 principal courses, including Film Studies 1020E or Film Studies 1022, plus 2.0 additional courses, with no mark in these principal courses below 60%.

Module Requirements – 9.0 courses:

2.0 courses: Film Studies 2230F/G, Film Studies 2252F/G, Film Studies 2254F/G, Film Studies 3371F/G.

0.5 course: Film Studies 2258F/G or any course at the 2200 level or above deemed to be in the area of Canadian Cinema.

0.5 course from: Film Studies 4409E, Film Studies 4470F/G, Film Studies 4472F/G, Film Studies 4474F/G, Film Studies 4490F/G.

1.5 courses from: Film Studies 2255E, Film Studies 2256F/G, Film Studies 2257F/G, Film Studies 2260F/G, Film Studies 2261F/G, Film Studies 2270F/G, Film Studies 2275F/G, Film Studies 2295F/G, Film Studies 3359F/G, Film Studies 3360F/G, Film Studies 3362F/G, Film Studies 3370F/G.

1.5 course from: Film Studies 2235F/G, Film Studies 2240F/G, Film Studies 2242F/G, Film Studies 2243F/G, Film Studies 2244E, Film Studies 2245F/G-2247F/G, Film Studies 2297F/G, Film Studies 3330F/G, Film Studies 3364F/G, Film Studies 3373F/G, Film Studies 3375F/G, Film Studies 3377F/G, or an approved course offered by another Department or Faculty.

MINOR IN GENERAL CINEMA STUDIES

The Minor in General Cinema Studies is intended for students who want a general program of film study with maximum choice and flexibility. Students who might consider upgrading to Major and Honors Specialization modules in Film Studies should take the Minor in Film Studies.

Admission Requirements: Completion of first-year requirements, including Film Studies 1020E or Film Studies 1022 with a mark of at least 60%.

Module Requirements - 4.0 courses:

4.0 courses in Film Studies at the 2100 level or above.
