  • We accept 55 students each year

Do you conduct interviews as part of the application process?

  • No

Do you require letters of reference?

  • No      

Are there quotas in your program for mature students, specific degree programs, province of residence, home university attended?

  • No.

What is fieldwork?

  • In fieldwork, a student integrates theory with practice under the direction of an occupational therapist fieldwork educator/supervisor. Fieldwork occurs in various settings in a variety of areas of therapy with clients across the life span. Students are required to pass all academic courses and all fieldwork placements to progress in the program.

Will I incur costs for fieldwork placements?

  • Students do incur some costs for fieldwork placements. There is a fee set per out-of-catchment placement by the placement database. Although some placements are offered in London, students need to be prepared to travel to other locations to complete fieldwork courses. Costs will be incurred while travelling to placements and/or when out of town accommodations are needed.

Do I have a choice of where I go for fieldwork?

  • The University of Western Ontario has priority for placements in a catchment area that includes the London area and Southwestern Ontario. Students MAY be able to access placements outside of the catchment area, based on availability of placements in another university's catchment area.
