Practice placements are an integral part of the curriculum in the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing. The majority of practice settings accessed by nursing students are located in the South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). This LHIN offers rewarding learning opportunities in a variety of rural, community, and urban settings with diverse client populations across the life span. Depending on availability, placement opportunities may vary from term to term. Each practice setting will provide a unique opportunity for students to apply and develop their knowledge and skills in a practice setting.
All placements are arranged by the Undergraduate Placement Coordinator and the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) Program (MN-NP) Coordinator. Information regarding pre-placement requirements is available on the Placement Requirements page.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from placements and for costs of travel and accommodation. Qualifying students may apply for partial reimbursement through the Travel Support Fund (TSF). The TSF criteria, application deadlines, and application form are available in Owl Placement Information site.
