Jacquelyn C. Campbell, PhD, RN is the Anna D. Wolf Chair and a Professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing with a joint appointment in the Bloomberg School of Public Health.  She has been conducting advocacy policy work and research in the area of violence against women since 1980, and in the intersection of HIV and violence since 2000.  Dr. Campbell has been the PI of 10 major NIH, NIJ or CDC research grants and published more than 150 articles and seven books on violence. She is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Nursing, is a graduate of Duke University with a PhD from the University of Rochester, and is currently (2005-06) the Institute of Medicine Senior Nurse Scholar in Residence addressing the interface of HIV and Violence Against Women in health policy and research initiative.  She is Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the just released WHO Multicountry study on Violence Against Women demonstrating the link with HIV risk and has worked in South Africa with the MRC on this issue.  She has also collaborated on research projects in India and Tanzania and has participated in both in-country research capacity building and US training of researchers from developing countries.
