Western's Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing offers three graduate programs.
As the home of the first graduate Nursing program in Canada, we have a long history of educational and research leadership in Canada and internationally. We are proud to offer three degree programs: Master of Science in Nursing (MScN), Master of Nursing (MN) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). We invite you to view our website and to contact us with any comments or questions.

We believe that master’s education in Nursing fosters critical thinking and the ability to problem-solve at an advanced level, to conduct and use research, and to initiate and respond to change within the context of the health care system and societal needs. Doctoral education in Nursing prepares scholars who are able to develop and test nursing knowledge through research.

Graduate education supports a spirit of inquiry, fosters a commitment to lifelong learning, and advances students’ ability to analyze and integrate theory and research in understanding and addressing issues of significance to Nursing. We value learning as a collaborative opportunity, with students and faculty mutually discovering and -creating knowledge. As well, we support creativity, innovation, independence, and initiative in seeking and acquiring knowledge.
Western provides the best student experience among Canada's leading research-intensive universities.
