Letter of Support Guidelines

PROGRESSION ASSESSMENT: SENIOR STUDENTS

Normally, the only grounds for granting of a special concession, such as a conditional admission to the program, are medical grounds or extenuating circumstances. Please attach or forward supporting documentation by April 30.If you feel that your circumstances warrant special consideration, please address the questions outlined below in your submission. Letters must include your name, student number, year and program to which you are applying.

  • Cite the extenuating circumstances which contributed most significantly to your poor academic performance (supporting documentation should accompany your letter). Outline the reasons why you feel that you will be successful in future academic studies if you are granted special consideration.
  • Other factors you believe are relevant to your situation.

If further documentation is forthcoming, it should be addressed to:

Note: This is not a letter of appeal. Should you wish to submit an Appeal of the Progression and Admission Committee’s decision, it should be submitted to:

Letters of Appeal must be received no later than June 30.

Final decisions of the Progression and Admission Committee will be posted on the web with your final grades. No other form of notification will be issued.
