Current Grad Students

Graduate studies in Kinesiology at The University of Western Ontario has a long history in graduate education beginning with a masters program initiated in 1963.

Over the past 40 years, the program has grown, developed and now offers MSc (thesis), MA (thesis), and MA (non-thesis) degrees at the masters level and PhD degrees in three areas: Integrative Physiology, Psychological Bases of Physical Activity and Motor Control, and Cultural Studies of Sport and Exercise.

Western’s Graduate Studies in Kinesiology has demonstrated excellence and has been recognized by the Ontario Government through The Ontario Council of Graduate Studies for the quality of laboratory facilities, the breadth and quality of library holdings, space allocated to graduate student offi ces and faculty expertise.

Our faculty and staff are integral to the success of this renowned program. A critical mass of superb faculty in each area ensures a breadth to your graduate education that is not available in smaller, specialized programs. Our faculty and staff have been recognized for their teaching and research, and have garnered an international reputation for excellence in their field.

Good supervisors ensure high quality graduates and high quality graduates are
able to secure post-doctoral fellowships and university teaching/research positions.
