The official final exam schedule is posted on the Registrar's website. Unofficial versions that may be posted on bulletin boards around campus are useful for reference but they are not updated. Final exams for half courses are listed along with some, but not all, mid-year tests for full courses. Morning exams are normally held at 9 AM. However, due to the bus schedule on Sundays, the SUNDAY morning exams ONLY have been changed from 9AM to 10 AM. Always check the schedule as soon as it is posted. If your examination falls on a Holy Day, give notice to your Academic Counsellor in writing as soon as possible but not later than two weeks prior to the writing of the final exam. In the case of tests, notice must be given in writing to the instructor as soon as possible but not later than one week prior to the writing of the test. If you have three final examinations falling within a 24 hour period, you may request a Special Examination. Note: "3 within 23 hours" means three examination periods in sequence such as 7pm, 9am, 2pm or 2pm, 7pm, 9am. We expect you to prepare in advance to meet other schedules (such as 9am, 7pm, 9am) that you consider heavy. The schedule is posted early in the term to enable you to set up an effective study plan. We recommend that you attend your classes and review your work on a regular basis throughout the term. Procedures have been established to allow students with two examinations at the same time to write the same examination as their classmates. Both examinations may be written the same day with a supervised study and meal break.
Professors are not required to set a Special Examination for these reasons. If you are only half an hour late, you may be given permission to start the examination. Otherwise, contact the Department and the Academic Counselling Office immediately. You are expected to schedule vacations and flights that don't conflict with the examination schedule. DOUBLE CHECK THE SCHEDULE AND CONFIRM THE INFORMATION WITH YOUR CLASSMATES. SHOWING UP AT THE WRONG TIME IS NOT GROUNDS FOR A MAKEUP (SPECIAL) EXAMINATION See “Academic Difficulties” for information about how you should deal with these situations.Tests and Examinations
